Omnivores and herbivores thrive on a varied diet of safe edible plants, trees, cacti, succulents, wildflowers, weeds, shrubs, grasses, house and aquatic plants. However, many should be fed in moderation and some are not safe at all. The link below is to a wonderful site that offers a comprehensive list of safe, unsafe and feed in moderation plants.

There are many plants that are safe to include in bio-active enclosures for reptiles that are not prone to eating them. More info on that coming soon. These guides are intended for reptiles like tortoises that thrive on a large variety in their omnivore or herbivore diet.

Be sure to research the exact needs of your specific reptile!! These lists are a guide to help you get started, but further research may be needed to be sure your species can benefit from these plants in their diet or enclosure. If in doubt - do not feed.
